This was my first year riding to Biketoberfest in Daytona. Last year I went to Daytona for Bike Week so I was really looking forward to see what this event what all about. One of the things I was most happy about riding this time was that the weather was awesome. For Bike Week it was pretty cold so this time the ride was more enjoyable.

I live in Miami and I ride a 2003 a Dyna WideGlide and my husband rides a 2003 ElectraGlide Classic, both 100th Anniversary. So we had 230 miles ahead.

We left on Friday morning taking I-95 which was pretty stressful  until we got to Palm Beach County. Too much traffic and people driving like crazy.

After that it was a great ride. We stopped in several Harley Dealers on our way to get our HD Tour stamps and saw lots of bikers on their way to Daytona.

Once in Daytona we headed towards the house where we were staying. My husband had posted an add on Craigslist asking for a room for us for $30 and this lovely couple offered us a room in their spectacular house in a country club. We were near the action and the place was great and we had our own bathroom. I was so happy!

At Bikeweek we went to Main Street at night to see all the bikes parade and during the day we went to Destination Daytona, the Iron Horse saloon and we also did the loop.

We had never been to the Iron Horse so must say I really liked it. It was a really fun place: food, music, bikes, everything!

Bike week and Biketoberfest are pretty much the same. At Bike Week you have more people, more bikes and everything is more crowded, but you have more stands and vendors. So if you are interested in getting some special deals in parts, gear, etc. for your bike you might have more luck on Bike Week.

On Sunday we headed back home and stopped at the Harley Dealer in New Smyrna for our HD tour stamp and we were surprised to see lots of vendors and everything set up to have a great time that last day.

Got home tired and happy from a long weekend and with 8 stamps on my passport! Looking forward to my next trip.

Did you attend Biketoberfest? Did you have a good time?

Ride Safely!
