Suzuki’s Todd Waters put his Wilson Coolair Motul Factory RM-Z450 onto the podium at round three of the Motul Motocross Nationals in treacherous conditions at Broadford, Victoria in Australia on Sunday.

Waters scored 1-4 for third place overall at the State Motorcycle Complex that saw both qualifying and the Thor Superpole cancelled because of muddy conditions following a severe overnight downpour.

Waters took the holeshot and led from start-to-flag in race one, but in the second race crashed with another rider at the start, but remounted to catch-up to fourth position.

Suzuki team-mate Luke Wilson made his return from injury to score two 15th positions, despite suffering a puncture in the first moto, to finish 13th overall.

Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki’s Waters now remains third in the Thor MX1 championship standings and sits only eight points from the series lead.

Todd Waters:

“In the first race I felt like I rode how I should have. I’ve been training hard and the bike is good, so especially in those conditions it was awesome to get the win. I really felt like it was going to be my day to be honest.

“In the second race Kade Mosig crashed in front of me and I just landed straight on top of him – I really had nowhere to go and I just hope he’s ok. I got back up and got back to fourth, but even though I was catching the front guys I just ran out of time to make it happen.
